Christmas on the farm

The stockings were hung by the nest boxes with care! Even the chickens are starting to feel festive this year.

It’s beginning to look a lot like a country Christmas around here!

Even the chickens are feeling festive!

We’re celebrating our second Christmas on the farm this year. Last year we had barely finished unpacking and everything felt rushed and chaotic. Christmas certainly made it finally feel like we were settled last year, but it was hard to get into the spirit of the holiday.

I’ve had time to do some Christmas crafts to decorate the house!

This year, we have had time to prepare. We’ve been here for a full year. The chicken’s are laying steadily now, although slowing down for the winter, and we even managed to enjoy some of the crops from our garden. Although none of the walnuts, damn squirrels!

Mia is already enjoying the slow pace of the holiday season.

I’m looking forward to the calm and quiet that the holidays bring, and for the first time in a long time, the Christmas spirit feels bountiful in our home.
