Merry Christmas! We survived Christmas and are in that weird time between holidays, when we’re working, but nothing is happening, no one knows what day it is, and everything seems a bit off.
The dogs are thrilled that I’m working from home this week, and to be honest, so am I. It’s been a nice way to recover from the rush up to Christmas. We didn’t get snow this year, even with all of mine and Mia’s snow dances, but we’re still hopefull that it will happen sometime this winter. Mia has her paws crossed.
Santa Paws was very generous to the pets this year, and they are very happy with their new toys and treats. We made a point to have a quieter, simpler holiday this year, with more emphasis on each other, and less on presents and spending. And it turned out perfectly! Our day was full of laughter and fun.

Our gifts to each other were practical and useful here on the property, and I can’t wait to use them around the farm. The chickens were spoiled with treats and responded by laying beautiful eggs, we even got 5 on Christmas day! For what is supposed to be the slow season, they sure are productive!
I’m looking forward to what the new year will bring, both in terms of changes in our lives, as well as projects around the house. Our to-do list always seems endless, but it never seems like work. Especially, and I know it sounds corny, but because we get to work on them together. We have a lot of projects around the outside of the house, as well as inside, and I’m eager to get started on them all.
