It all started in May of 2018, with a roly-poly, 3-month-old, Saint Bernard puppy. We brought home Mia from the airport and as she grew, we realized that we wanted more room for her. One day, I found a beautiful home for sale, with a couple acres, a little more than 10 miles from where we currently lived.

Well, that didn’t turn out to be our dream home, but it started us on our journey to find something new. Something with more room for Mia to roam, with a shop for woodworking, a bigger crafting space and more for all of us to call home. And maybe even learn some new skills.

That was in July. In October, we finally moved into our new-to-us, absolutely perfect (even with its flaws) home on five acres. It came complete with an orchard, a half-acre garden, a shop, chicken coop, and a big, beautiful yard for Mia. She was able to celebrate her first Christmas in our new home and turn one-year-old there.
She even got to celebrate her first PNW snowfall there. Seeing her discover the joy of snow for the first time was absolutely wonderful and having 5 acres of it for her to romp in was priceless.
She loves roaming in her new space. We’ve found our forever home and are loving learning along the way. Things like chicken-keeping, apple-growing, tractor-driving and how to bird-proof blueberries!
We’re looking forward to continuing to make our dreams come true in this new home, as we grow our little farm animal family.
