We decided to start composting when we moved in here, figuring we could use the compost in our garden and improve our soil through compost. Through a little research, we realized that one of the best ways to create quality compost was to use worms. And that DIY worm farming is much easier than it seems.

It took us a while to get around to it, but we finally picked up a few large Rubbermaid bins, and ordered ourselves some Red Wigglers this week. After doing our homework, we found out that Red Wigglers are absolutely the best worms for worm farming, as they will consume the most waste and reproduce the fastest.

Also, and here is the best, wackiest part… you can order your worms from Amazon and they ship Prime! How crazy is that? So we got our worms on Wednesday, and set them up in one of the tubs. We have to build their official home this weekend. And now we can add worms, to our list of farm animals!
